Issues & Ethics

Our community respects the legacy we have received while also pursuing new perspectives on historical events. We study university history for its unique role in fostering a greater sense of shared community.

The university sets out clearly articulated aspirations of character, vibrant statements of Emory's mission, vision and ethical principles. We actively cite these in our work.

While we strive for ideals, Emory belongs to time and place, with the challenges that human limitations introduce. We seek to confront issues both sensitively and directly in order to mitigate their impact and improve going forward.
