Margaret A. Pitts was a longtime benefactor of the theology library that bears the Pitts name.

As a lifetime trustee of the William I.H. and Lula E. Pitts Foundation, founded by her father and named for her parents, she gave generously to Methodist causes and institutions.

The Margaret Pitts Garden was dedicated on the occasion of her 100th birthday.
