Glenn Memorial is named in honor of Flora and Thomas's father, Wilbur Fisk Glenn, who was a Methodist minister in Georgia for some five decades.

Charles Howard Candler Sr. (1898C 1942H), along with his wife, Flora Glenn Candler, and her brother Thomas K. Glenn (1942H), gave the funds to construct the building.
