Originating on the campus of the U.S. Centers for Control and Prevention and flowing under Peavine Creek Drive to Peavine Creek, the George Cooper Creek is one of four named streams on the Druid Hills campus.

Its name honors a longtime athletics coach who also served as director of intramural athletics.
