Ali P. Crown
Founding Director, Center for Women at Emory
Arriving at Emory in 1980 with the Law and Economics Center, Ali P. Crown quickly became involved in women's issues.
In the span of her Emory career, she spent a year as assistant to the dean of the School of Medicine and six years working in the business school, rising to associate director of executive education. During this time, she worked on the President's Commission on the Status of Women and served a term as its chair.
When a women's center was established on campus in 1992, Crown was appointed as its first director, serving for 16 years.
