Henry Morton Bullock

A highly influential Methodist clergyman and educator, Henry Morton Bullock created the first official account of Emory's early years, A History of Emory University, published in 1936.

Born in 1902 in Chicago, Bullock taught at several colleges, including Blackburn College in Illinois and Millsaps College in Mississippi. He was a prolific editor and contributor to religious publications. A typescript of his Emory history and accompanying correspondence are part of Emory's Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library.
