Terrence B. Adamson
Executive Vice President, National Geographic Society
As executive vice president of the National Geographic Society since 1998, Terry Adamson protects and promotes an international treasure. He is responsible for the global reach of the society and for the publication of local-language editions of the landmark National Geographic Magazine.
Adamson served in key roles during the Carter administration and has been for a trustee of The Carter Center since its inception.
At Emory, where he majored in history, Adamson worked as editor of the Emory Wheel and won a Barkley Forum debate tournament in 1964.
